Because these are still "A's," (<- look at all those ",' and ") I'm still sketching, but I think I'll have some 3d models in the next phase. I feel odd calling these 'concepts' as they're mostly just things that are pretty. I do enjoy the corkboard one, however, because I actually feel like there is some semblance of a concept there. Are these too loose? Any opinions? Again, does anyone have a favorite? On a side note, while I was uploading my pdf just now, I happened upon this article, which is pretty sweet

im still partial to 6.... the aesthetic is striking when compared to the others. visually, it is interesting open and closed, sort of reminds me of trippy fruit slices.
ReplyDeleteit definitely would be functional for college students with the various open stages and different levels of light. it would be really cool to see a physical model of it!
The on that caught my eye is #9. I don't know if it fits your brief or or not, but I just like it based on my initial impression.
ReplyDeleteDoing a bunch of little things can make this better. You should type up the titles. Make sure your formatting is really consistent (orthos always in the same spot). When you shade the shadow, try to fill it in right up to the line. Add a few callouts to point out meaningful details, materials or shapes.
I think the photoshop work is good, and I can clearly understand the forms you're presenting. Thick/thin linework is also good.
